West Haven

 A new year is now upon us.

While I had hoped to hit 100 kayaking / canoe trips  in 2009, I only made it to 88 - of which about 2 were with the canoe and the rest were kayak trips broken down as follows: 10 were offshore, 4 were tandem touring, 10 were river trips, and the rest were a combination of river clean-up, wildlife monitoring and rescue work...

This is still a respectabe amount of kayaking, which I hope to improve on in 2010.

But one thing I need to do involves me: I need to do both physical and mental work on myself if I am to continue making all these tris on the water. This is a good thing, working on one's self always yeilds positive results. 

I plan on doing more hiking and bicycle riding - both street and off road - in addition to my kayaking - whic shal provide the absolute best workout one could ever ask for.

The other day I purchased a Spirit 4.3 Dimension Duo. Unfortunately, they are no longer being made, and I got real lucky in that Connecticut Outdoors up in Oakville had one that was in dire need of a good home. So, come spring time - it shall arrive. I am also still exploring the perfect sea tandem expedition kayak and have it down to 2 choices:  The AIRE Sea Tiger- which would be a new boat  and a used Tsunami X-2 Starship, which is currently out on the west coast in the care of my friend Micco.

So, all in all an exciting positive year lies ahead.

I am hopfull that by leading by example that I can introduce others to caring for the ecology becuse nature is the only thing, without nature - we are nothing.

For the Air, Trees, Water, and Animals....
